When the Cinemark Movies 10 - Wooster in Wooster, Ohio closed in March, it left the area with just one movie theater. Fortunately, that's about to change. The now-closed movie theater has a new operator and it's one of the top 5 chains in the country!

We discovered recently that the ten-screen movie theater on Burbank Road would be taken over by Missouri-based B&B Theatres. The company has 50 locations around the country, with two in Ohio (the B & B Macedonia 15 near Cleveland and the B & B Liberty Township 15 outside of Cincinnati).

According to a press release issued by the company recently, it plans to undertake a "full-scale renovation" of the facility, with a redesigned concessions area, updated lobby and interior finishes, and other amenities.

"Wooster is a growing and vibrant community and so much about it aligns perfectly with our company and values. We are looking forward to updating this hometown cinema to the B&B standard and reintroducing the magic of the movies to Wooster in a brand new way!"

While the exact details aren't known at this time, we know for sure that the movie theater will lose one screen in the transition. However, the press release also mentions that the company's premium large-format Grand Screen® experience will be coming to the Wooster location, which will have an upgraded sight and sound experience. We'll take a large premium screen over under-sized and under-featured auditoriums any day!

Heated leather recliners will be in every auditorium, and a full-service bar will be serving food and drinks that include chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, burgers, flatbread pizzas, and more that can be enjoyed there or taken with you to your seat. These are the kinds of improvements that have become commonplace with new theaters, and it's good to see them coming to the former Cinemark location for the people of Wooster and the surrounding area.

We're awaiting the full details from B&B Theatres about what the B & B Wooster 9 will be offering and we'll publish an update here or a new article when the information is available. 

When Will the B&B Wooster 9 Open?

An opening date has not yet been announced. Given the extensive upgrades, we wouldn't be surprised if it will be some time before the screens are lit up once again. Keep an eye on the News Articles page for the B & B Wooster 9 for updates!

Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to continue visiting one of the other nearby theaters, including The Lyric Theater in Wooster and the Hayesville Opera House in Hayesville.
