Last February, the Ocala Centre 6 in Ocala, Florida was closed quite unexpectedly when a huge sinkhole opened up beneath it.

Now, 14 months after the incident, the theater is ready to re-open tomorrow, April 18, 2008.

The Sun-Banner in Ocala is reporting that the theater received its occupancy permit and will begin showing movies, just as if nothing had happened:

Now, 14 months after the sinkhole appeared, the theater will open its doors Friday for moviegoers, joining Regal Cinemas Hollywood 16 as the only other movie theater in Ocala.

[General Manager Cathy Carr] said she expects the 175 seats in each of the six rooms to fill up just like old times. "We've had a lot of our old customers asking us if we were ever going to reopen," Carr said. "The demand is still there."
