The world premiere of the animated movie The Tale of Despereaux will be held at the ArcLight Hollywood in Hollywood, California on Sunday, December 7, 2008, according to a press release issued by Universal Pictures.

Scheduled to attend are cast members Matthew Broderick, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Watson, William H. Macy, Tony Hale and Sigourney Weaver; directors Sam Fell and Rob Stevenhagen; writer/producer Gary Ross; producer Allison Thomas; and composer William Ross. Additional celebrity guests have been invited.

Celebrities will begin arriving at 1pm and the screening begins at 2pm.

In The Tale of Despereaux, a mouse named Despereaux has been banished from the mouse world for his decidedly non-mouse activities, including reading books and talking to humans. When the princess he befriended is kidnapped, he discovers that he is the only one who can rescue her and that even the tiniest mouse can find the courage of a knight in shining armor. In this tale of bravery, forgiveness and redemption, one small creature will teach a kingdom that it takes only a little light to show the truth: what you look like doesn't equal what you are.

The movie opens in theaters on Friday, December 19th, 2008. For more information, including the trailer, photos, and links to the official web site and more, please see the Information Page for The Tale of Despereaux.
