Hollywood, CA: Premiere of "Friday the 13th" on 2/9/2009 at Grauman's Chinese Theatre

Posted on Wednesday, February 4th, 2009 8:39 PM

New Line Cinema and Paramount Pictures announced yesterday that the Los Angeles premiere for the upcoming horror movie Friday the 13th (2009) will be held on February 9, 2009 at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.

This new movie is a "re-imagining" of the 1980 original that spawned a large number of sequels through the 80's all the way through to the most recent installment, Freddy Vs Jason, in 2003.

Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) pursues what few leads he has in the search for his missing sister, Whitney (Amanda Righetti), with the help of Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up at Crystal Lake for an all-thrills weekend. But they are all about to find much more than they bargained for.

Little do they know, they’ve entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history—the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

Scheduled to attend the premiere from the movie are Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle, Derek Mears, Willa Ford, Arlen Escarpeta, America Olivo, Jonathan Sadowski and Ben Feldman. Director Marcus Nispel and Producers Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Other celebrity guests will also be attending.

Celebrities will arrive starting at 6pm, and the screening starts at 7pm.

The movie opens nationwide in theaters on, fittingly, Friday, February 13th. For more information, including the trailer and a photo gallery of photos from the movie, as well as links to the official web site and reviews as they come in, please see the Information Page for the movie!
