The Full Moon Drive-In in San Diego, California has closed and will not reopen, according to a message posted to their web site and Facebook page on September 17, 2013:

Dear Full Moon fans,
About 2 years ago we had a dream to create a new drive-in movie experience. At first it seemed like an unattainable goal, but with hard work and perseverance we opened our doors in June of last year. A lot has happened during this past year. We had lots of fun with our special events and accomplished the impossible by bringing new releases back to the Pacific Beach area.

Over this year have we have worked tirelessly to make this a sustainable venture, so that we can keep the drive-in open and the dream going. Unfortunately because of different factors, we have decided to close the drive-in.

We have been very lucky to be a part of this community and to have such amazing customers. We have also been very fortunate to have found people that believed in us and helped us get the project going. To all of you, we really appreciate your trust in us and thank you for allowing our entrepreneur spirit to take off.

We will always be available for you to answer any questions at info@fullmoondrivein.com .

With gratitude for all your support and patronage,

David Adler

Moviegoers looking for the open-air experience of the drive-in will need to take a short drive to either the Santee Drive-In Theatre in Santee or the South Bay Triple Drive-In in San Diego.
