A new luxury entertainment center has opened in the Conestoga Marketplace development in Grand Island, Nebraska. Located on the site of the former Conestoga Mall on Hwy 281 & W. 13th Street, Conestoga Marketplace already has retail stores in addition to the movie theater/entertainment center, and the plans include a hotel and luxury apartments. The 2025 TCM Classic Film Festival starts today, but if you can't make it to Hollywood, we've got the full lineup so you can search your home video collection, your favorite streaming services, and retailers to enjoy the festival at home! The fifth season of The Chosen TV series is being shown in movie theaters this Spring The Chosen: Last Supper in three parts. Milestones
When Wicked was released in theaters in November, it was a sensation in more ways than one! Along with spending nine weeks in the Top 10 Box Office Report, getting ten Academy Award nominations, and making almost $500 million in North America alone, it has a sequel coming later this year that will complete the story. Theater Openings & Improvements
The movie theater at The Village at San Antonio Center in Mountain View, California will be opening later this year. The screens went dark last July, when the Kerasotes Mountain View ShowPlace ICON at San Antonio Center was closed by parent company Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres, LLC., along with the company's three other locations in Santa Clara, California, Chicago, Illinois, and St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Theater Closings
The Stardust Drive In in Chetek, Wisconsin will not open for the 2025 season and has launched a fundraising campaign to help preserve the theater for the day when it can reopen. Located in northwest Wisconsin about 45 miles north of Eau Claire and 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis, Minnesota, the outdoor movie theater was built in 2001.
