Good fun romatic 'date' movie. The movie is good hearted and fun although just a bit formulaic...you know what's going to happen and there are few if any suprises. The use of food (choclate) to magically alter the moods of the characters reminded me a bit of the film 'Like Water for Chocolate'

Again, fun but predictable, worth seeing. 2.5 stars

Another excellent movie from Director Lasse Hallstorm who directed last year film "The Cider House Rules." In "Chocolat," Juliette Binoche plays a mysterious woman who comes to a dirty town to open a chocolate shop. As a result she spread joy to the town with her creations.

A strong cast also helped this movie including Lena Olin, who was reunted with Binoche from "The Unbearable Lightness of Being."

This is a fairy tale sort of movie. There is no violence or heavy sexual scenes. It is good clean entertainment and enjoyable. You will feel good about life when you leave the theatre.

This is a movie that is magical in all sorts of ways. It makes the viewer feel overpowered by the magic of taste and reveals all true feelings.

In this movie, a new woman and her daughter come in to a small french town and during the celebration of lent open up a chocolat store. With the opening of the store new feelings are awoken and the movie has a sensible taste that I would like to see more of.

This movie is definitely worth seeing. I was not expecting it to be this good.

If you did not see this on the big screen it will not loose any of its appeal on video.
