It's got some fun nods to fans of the genre, but overall is a disappointment.

A failed attempt to revive the mad slashing horror genre, which dominate horror movies of the 1980's. this time a attempt revival will not work for the new generation of horror fans who are much better than what the filmmakers think. this movie is violent and depressing and just plain sad. the notice the disclaimer that this movie is based on real events, making it no longer a horror movie but a crime drama. A family goes on vacation a place that resembles a trailer park found out that the place is terrorized by a group of kids in masks. they go in with knives and kill anything that moves.the family is lame and the killers aren't any better. Christina Hendricks plays the mother which career is taking a free fall since "Mad Man." The film is violent without any redeeming value. One of the worst horror movies in years.
