Hello Everybody!! I just saw 28 days and it was a wonderful movie! Sandra Bullock shows that she really can do everything when she starred in this new film! It is set in New York where Gwen(Bullock) lives with her drunken boyfriend Jasper. They go drinking and getting high. When Gwen was little she lived with her mother and older sister. Her mom was a drunk and had always taught Gwen that if you were not having fun whats the point of being wherever you are. Gwen believed her and grew up to be a drunk after her mother's early death from an over dose of drugs and too much liquer. Gwen always ends up ruining everything for everyone including her sister's wedding! When Gwen runs a stolen limo into a house thats the last string. She has the choice of jail or 28 days in a rehab center. When the 28 days is over Gwen realizes she won't beable to change herself unless she changes her suroundings and groups of friends. This movie will make you laugh and cry, It will show you the results of drinking and using. Watching this movie with the award winning Sandra Bullock will change your life forever!! Enjoy!! Take one buzzed-out, irresponsible, self-involved young writer type woman, who thinks shes the consummate party girl; give her a choice between 28 days in jail for a potentially life threatening DUI accident, or 28 days in rehab with a bunch of eccentric addicts doomed to spend their lives in this anti-pharmaceutical dungeon of the damned, and what do you get? Sandra Bullock in the longest running cigarette commercial in history. This movie makes me wonder which could be worse, the horrible nightmare of drug addiction, or the horrible nightmare of drug rehab? If life is anything like this in a real rehabilitation clinic, give me drugs, chemicals and alcohol - in very large quantities. The whole movie is so full of hackneyed anti-drug and alcohol clichés it made me want to throw up. (Or maybe that was the party last night). Anyway, no one notices that everyone is puffing away on a cigarette. No disparaging statements at all about the potentially life threatening possibilities of nicotine. Billed as a comedy / drama, this light-hearted study of homey addiction is only sporadically sprinkled with brief interruptions of lukewarm humor. The frequent flashbacks move the story forward, to a certain extent, but no one really cares. We learn that Sandras character was raised (if you want to call it that) by a buzzed-out, irresponsible, self-involved, addicted and neglectful mother. I guess this proves conclusively that the nut doesnt fall far from the tree. All in all, it was reminiscent of the recent movie, Girl Interrupted, without the depth of character, the powerful charisma, or the lung cancer potential. And, while it did come off as a light comedy, they saved most of that light comedy for the last scene. By that time I needed a good laugh and a stiff drink. Sandra is easy on the eyes, so I give it a strong C. ---Don Dixie says: 28 Days was amusing and thought provoking. It reminded me of my college days and all the wonderful things I learned in school. Like: if you show up at a party and you are the only girl there, you should leave immediately or be a good sport about it; and never climb into the back seat of a strange boys car if you have only one beer; and never, never mix alcohol with the yellow pills. I cant remember the other stuff, but I give the movie a C+. Aug 30, 2006
\"28 Days\" featured Sandra Bullock in another good performance plays a writer who excessive drinking leads to an accident and leads her into rehab for 28 Days.(the title of the movie) Not only bullock is good, but the supporting cast who are in rehab with her isn\'t bad either.
