My complaints with this movie mainly come in the form of completely irredeemable characters that the movie wants you to be rooting for. The young mother of the main little girl in this film isn't shown in any positive light whatsoever, yet by the end of the movie, it seems like the script wanted the viewer to be sad at the situation she's now in, a sadness I didn't feel whatsoever. Ultimately, the performances are good in this movie (Willam Dafoe being remarkably good), but I didn't connect with the story as much as I wanted to.
