"The Anniversary Party" is one of the best movies of the year. A small movie that brought many familiar performers under one roof.

Alan Clumming and Jennifer Jason Leigh both wrote and directed this movie about a party where painful truthe are revealed. It's their sixth anniversary of their marriage and Joe and Sally (played by Clumming and Leigh) has decised to throw a party. They invited many guest including their neighbors in which they had many run-ins with over their dog. One guest looks like Peter Sellers.

As the day worn on, truths are reavels, passions are reavels and bitterness turned into rage. Like "America's Sweethearts" it featured showbiz people, but unlike "American Sweethearts," they didn't sugercoated the characters with all that sweetness. "The Anniversary Party" is well-written and acted.

Parker Posey, Kevin Kline and Gwyneth Paltrow are among the performers who helped made this movie special. It was special to me, I took the Amtrak train to Battle Creek to catch a screening because Kalamazoo has no room for an important film like "The Anniversary Party." Theyu found room for "American Sweethearts," why they can't find room for this film too.
