I don’t turn many movies off, but this was one of them. Because I was interested in seeing it through in the optimistic hope that it would redeem itself, I got through it later. I am not familiar with the source material, and I get the impression that doing so would help a lot. Maybe watching it with a fan of the source material might also help.
