"The Four Feathers" may be a good drama, but not a good epic. You see epics usually run at length of three hours or more. "Lawrence of Arbia" is 3 hours and 40 minutes. I happened to saw that movie recenty on AMC.

The longest movie I saw on the big scxreen is Spike Lee's "Malcolm X," being cloked in at 3 hours and 21 minutes, plus 10 minutes of credits. "Red," the Warren Besatty epic is three hours and 20 minutes. But "The Four Feathers," ran less time at two hours and seven minutes.

The film is based on the nove by A.E.W. Mason, it's theme is redemption. It tell of a British soldier who was given four feathers, a sign of being a cowerd. He then follow British troops into Sudan to put down an uprising.

Great performanmce from Heath Ledger, Wes Bentley, Kate Hudson and Djmon Hounsou. I'll recommend the film as drama, but not as a epic.

With the thick British dialogue, it is hard to keep track of what is being said. I don't know an epic from an epidemic, but I can tell you that this movie was about 45 minutes of action surrounded by 2 hours of bordom.
