Very close to a \"see now\". Very close to my top 10 of 2003. Great cast. Feb 18, 2004
\"The Cooler\" is a powerful drama about one man\'s negative point of view about Las Vagas. William Macy plays Bernie. He\'s a cooler. He helps gamblers who lose too much money or is about to lose it\'s cool. Alec Baldwin is the owner of the casino. Macy must pay him a large amount of money, before he is let go. Maria Bello plays Macy\'s love intrest. The film is well-written and powerfully act by Baldwin and Bello. But the center of this movie is Macy. so the film won one Oscar nomination for Bladwin. Bello got an Golden Globe for her supporting performance. But see this film anyway and you wonder why that film should have won more nominations. May 27, 2012
