AMAZING.....not one dry eye in the entire theater. Dec 17, 2007
Note to self, \"the Notebook\" is a terrilbe romantic love story which has the life of a made-for-tv movie. the cast are one diminisional characters. James Garner read her a story to her wife, played by Gena Rowlands. he might as well read the grocery list, because his wife doesn\'t remember a thing. The acting from the cast was forced, only Rachel McAdams\' performance tried to give her character some life. I missed it \"the Notebook\" when it hit theaters in 2004, I caught the movie on televison. If it saw the movie on the big screen, my opinion will not changed at all. Jan 27, 2009
This is one of my favorite contemporary romance movies! I say contemporary, because even though it is set in the 1940's, it's not up to the same level achieved by so many romantic movies that were made in the 30's and 40's, but it comes really close. I enjoyed watching it, and if you have a soft spot in your heart, I think you will enjoy it as well. The ending was a fitting way to end the story of a lifelong love affair. Highly recommended!
