This is a movie that takes a classic horror story and goes into the dark recesses of the genre. While it does not compare to the slasher movies popular in the 80s or the torture porn movies like Saw. its depiction of what was considered gore at the time was startling. Jeff Goldblum does a perfect job of portraying a scientist who was perhaps a little dedicated to his work. Definitely worth watching!
