As the sequel to "Open Water" this movie succeeds in making you feel the isolation of the middle of the ocean with no help in sight. Whereas the first set of characters was stranded without a boat, this set has the boat the whole time, just not reachable because the nimwit running the boat forgets to lower the ladder before jumping overboard.

The acting isn't fantastic, the actions of some of the characters betray sensibility, and using the baby's cries goes from sad to manipulative quickly.

That said, the tension portrayed is palpable and it's worth renting some time.
