"Broken Arrow" is an exciting thriller about lost nuclear weapons. John Travolta can play a bad guy just as good as playing a good guy. he plays a leader who take off with stolen nuclear weapons and it's up to Christian Slater to get them back. I like this action thriller. The tension never led up and the cast is impressive. "Broken arrow" will impress you just as it impressed me.

There are some movies that you revisit and you just know why they are classics that people want to see over and over again. Then there are those movies that you watch years after they were made (possibly years after you initially saw it and liked it) and you think, "wow, that didn't age too well."

While the themes of Broken Arrow are still relevant, the stylistic choices in making this movie make me wonder if this is what action movies were really like in 1996? After all, that was the year of Independence Day, Twister, Mission: Impossible, The Rock, and more! So yeah, I'm going to not blame the odd musical themes on the times. Director John Woo has a particular style, which he also showed us in Mission: Impossible 2, which is another movie that hasn't aged well. It makes me question ever watching Face/Off again, even though my memory of that movie was of a positive impression.

John Travolta chews up the scene at every opportunity, but I recall him being much better as a bad guy in Face/Off. He's better in his dramatic and comedic roles, but he's passable here. Christian Slater and Samantha Mathis are better actors than this movie allows them to be, but they make a likeable duo.

Overall, everything is fine... except for that music. Ugh. I promise not all movies from that time were like that!
