A cute concept, but obviously much of the movie was left on the cutting room floor, which would explain its choppy story line. Basically a live-action version of the cartoon of the same name. Matthew Broderick is a bit "vanilla" as the well-wired crime fighter. All in all, not a bad way to spend some time out of the heat, but if you're on a budget - wait for the video! Jan 25, 2000
About as one-dimensional as a movie can get, even for the six-year-olds it's aimed at. There's not enough to this movie to hold the attention of older kids, let alone adults. But the non-stop special effects (gadgets coming out of Matthew Broderick's fingertips, etc.) may turn it into a kiddie-cult classic when it comes out on video. Jan 25, 2000
inspector gadget had a lot of stupid twists and turns in it. it was kind of cute at the end but not at all funny. i had a hard time trying to decide if you should wait wait for the rental or stay away. DO NOT worry at all if you can't make it to the movie,There is really NOTHING to it. Jan 25, 2000
Most adult would not like this movie, but me being a teenager and loving kids movies, i thought it was great. if you like kids movies youll love it. Jan 25, 2000
The movie I saw was Inspector Gadget. It was a terrible movie. I thought I would like it, but after the movie I looked in the newspapper and saw only one *. Starring Matthew Brodrick as Inspeter Gadget and Rupert Everett as Claw. Some violence. (Not like brains and guts and gore) But If I had to say something about the "action" I would have to say It was pretty stupid like weird and wacky, a little cusing but not very much, and it's kind of some love story put into the movie but it doesn't turn the movie into a drama. Last note is I wouldn't see it if I were you!!! Jan 25, 2000
My kids really enjoyed the movie. They are 6 and 7 years old. As an adult, I had a good time watching the kids love it, and I appreciated the end clips with the credits, especially Don Adams as the voice of the dog! Jul 15, 2003
\"Inspector Gadget\" is based on the british cartoon about a robot inspector who battle the claw. Matthew Broadrick plays Inspector Gadget and Rupert Everett as the claw. Despite its moments, the film comes up short. Looking for more opinions?Check out our Featured Movie Reviews for Inspector Gadget. |
